CBSE CTET Notification 2026 – Online Apply for CTET February 2026
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is shortly going to release the official notification for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), February 2026 on its official website — ctet.nic.in. The CTET 2026 examination will be conducted on 8th February 2026 in 20 languages across 132 cities in India. Aspiring teachers who wish to pursue a teaching career in schools must appear and qualify in CTET.

The minimum educational qualifications for appearing in CTET are as prescribed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Candidates should verify detailed eligibility at ncte.gov.in
For Classes I – V (Primary Stage)
Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in final year of 2-year D.El.Ed
OR
Senior Secondary with 45% marks and passed/appearing in final year of 2-year D.El.Ed (as per NCTE Regulations 2002)
OR
Senior Secondary with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 4-year B.El.Ed
OR
Senior Secondary with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
OR
Graduation with 50% marks and B.Ed (must undergo 6-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education after appointment)
For Classes VI – VIII (Elementary Stage)
Graduation and passed/appearing in 2-year D.El.Ed
OR
Graduation with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year B.Ed
OR
Graduation with 45% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year B.Ed (as per NCTE norms)
OR
Senior Secondary with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 4-year B.El.Ed
OR
Senior Secondary with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed
OR
Graduation with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year B.Ed (Special Education)

Any candidate having a valid B.Ed qualification recognized by NCTE is eligible to appear in CTET.
