Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) has officially released the notification for the Joint Lateral Entrance Examination (JLEE) 2025. This entrance exam is conducted annually for diploma holders seeking lateral admission into the 3rd semester of B.Tech programs offered by engineering colleges across Assam.

Eligibility Criteria for Assam JLEE 2025

Candidates applying for the Joint Lateral Entrance Examination (JLEE) 2025 must fulfill the following eligibility conditions:

  • Resident-ship
    • The candidate must be an Indian Citizen and a Permanent Resident of Assam.
    • A valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) of Assam issued by the competent authority is mandatory.
    • Note: Candidates who do not possess a PRC at the time of reporting will be given 30 days from the date of reporting to submit it. An undertaking must be provided, failing which the seat will be forfeited.
  • Character
    • The candidate must have good moral character.
  • Physical Fitness
    • The candidate must be physically and mentally fit.
  • Educational Qualification
    • Candidates must hold a recognized 3-year Diploma in Engineering from any of the following institutions in Assam:
    • State Council of Technical Education (SCTE), Assam
    • Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Guwahati
    • Assam Energy Institute, Sivasagar
    • Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Kokrajhar
  • Minimum Marks Required:
    • General Category: At least 45% aggregate marks
    • SC/ST Category: At least 40% aggregate marks
  • Final Year Diploma Students
    • Candidates appearing in their final diploma examination may also apply.
    • However, they must produce the original marksheet and pass certificate at the time of admission.

Application Fee – Assam JLEE 2025

  • Application Fee Amount: ₹2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand only)
  • Mode of Payment: Online payment through SBI Collect, which supports:
    • Debit Card
    • Credit Card
    • Net Banking

Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official application portal of Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU). Follow the steps below to complete the application process:

  • Scroll down to the ‘Important Web-Links’ section on the official website.
  • Click on the “Online Application Form” link.
  • Begin by clicking on “New Registration” to create your account.
  • After registration, click on the “Online Application Form” link again and log in using your credentials.
  • Fill in all required personal and educational details carefully.
  • Upload necessary documents (such as passport-sized photo, signature, certificates, etc.) in the prescribed format.
  • Proceed to make the application fee payment of ₹2,000/- using SBI Collect.
  • After successful submission, take a printout of the completed application form for future reference.
  • Starting date of submission of online applications: 23rd May 2025
  • Last Date for submission of online applications: 2nd June 2025
  • Issue of online admit cards: From 12th June, 2025 onward
  • Date and timing of examination: 22nd June 2025, 11:00 a.m.-02:00 p.m.
  • Declaration of results: Within 15 days of conduct of examination

  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer
