The Assam Engineering Service Recruitment Board (AESRB Recruitment) has announced 58 Assistant Professor vacancies for 2025 in both Technical and Non-Technical disciplines across State Engineering Colleges under the Higher Education (Technical) Department, Government of Assam.

Assistant Professor (Technical)

• Total Posts: 54
• Disciplines:
  • Civil Engineering – 24
  • Mechanical Engineering – 15
  • Electrical Engineering – 5
  • Chemical Engineering – 6
  • Instrumentation Engineering – 3
  • Computer Application – 1​

Educational Qualification

• For Sl. No. 1 to 5: (Engineering Streams: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Instrumentation)
  • B.E./B.Tech./B.S. (4-year degree course)
• AND
  • M.E./M.Tech./M.S. or Integrated M.Tech in the relevant branch
  • With First Class or equivalent in any one of the degrees
• For Sl. No. 6: (Computer Application)
  • Any one of the following:
  • B.E./B.Tech./B.S. + M.E./M.Tech./M.S. or Integrated M.Tech – First Class in any one degree
  • OR
  • B.E./B.Tech. + MCA – First Class in any one degree
  • OR
  • Three-year Graduation with Mathematics as a compulsory subject
    • MCA (First Class)
    • 2 years of teaching/research/industrial experience after MCA

Note:

• Candidates who have done Ph.D. after Bachelor’s Degree from an Institution of National Importance (e.g., IIT/NIT) with GATE/CEED qualification shall be eligible for Assistant Professor post.

Scale of Pay

• Level 10: ₹57,700 – ₹1,82,400 per month
• Plus applicable allowances as per Government of Assam rules.

Age Relaxation:

• SC/ST(P)/ST(H): +5 years (up to 43 years)
• OBC/MOBC: +3 years (up to 41 years)
• PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disability): +10 years
  (up to 48 years for all categories)

  • Physics – 1
  • Chemistry – 1
  • Mathematics – 1
  • Humanities (English) – 1

Educational Qualification

• As per UGC Notification No. F.1-2/2017(EC/PS) dated 18th July, 2018, and subsequent UGC guidelines.
