NMMS Assam 2025 – National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme

Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam has released the official notification for the Centrally Sponsored “National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS)” Scheme for the financial year 2025–26. This scheme aims to award scholarships to meritorious and economically disadvantaged students from Class IX to XII studying in Government, Government-aided, and Local Body schools in Assam.

Educational Qualification:

• Must be a regular student of Class VIII in a government, government-aided, or local body school.
• Must have secured at least 55% marks in Class VII (50% for SC/ST students).

Income Criteria:

• Parental annual income should not exceed ₹3,50,000/- from all sources.

Ineligible Schools:

• Students studying in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Sainik Schools, or private residential schools are not eligible.

• Aadhaar Card
• Passport size photograph
• Class VII Mark Sheet
• Income Certificate (from a competent authority)
• Caste Certificate (if applicable)
• Disability Certificate (if applicable)
• Student’s Bank Account Details

Interested and eligible students may apply online through the following steps:

• Scroll down to the “Important Web Links” section.
• Click on the “One-Time Registration” link.
• A new webpage will open. Register using your basic details (such as Aadhaar number, mobile number, email, etc.).
• After registration, go back to the homepage and click on “Login to Apply” under the relevant academic year.
• Fill in the Online Application Form completely.
• Upload all required documents (mark sheet, income certificate, caste certificate, etc.).
• Click on “Submit” and take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.
