Govt. College of Art & Crafts, Assam, located at Basistha, Guwahati, has released the official admission notice for the 4-Year (8 Semester – Modular) Bachelor of Visual Art (B.V.A) Course for the academic session 2025–2026 under FYUGP as per NEP. The course is offered in four major specializations — Applied Art, Graphics (Printmaking), Painting, and Sculpture. Interested and eligible candidates can collect and submit their admission forms from 13th June to 23rd June 2025.

Assam Govt College of Art & Crafts Admission 2025 Course Offered:

• Course of Study :- 4 (Four) Year (8 Semester – Modular) Bachelor of Visual Art (BVA) (in Applied Art/Graphics (Printmaking)/Painting/Sculpture) FYUGP as per NEP
• BVA in Applied Art
• BVA in Graphics (Printmaking)
• BVA in Painting
• BVA in Sculpture
• Total Seats: 50 (Maximum 15 seats per major subject)

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must have passed H.S. (10+2) or equivalent in any stream
• Minimum 45% marks (40% for reserved category)
• Maximum Age: 23 years (Relaxation as per Govt. norms)

Selection Criteria:

• Practical Test: 50 marks
• Viva-Voce: 40 marks
• Marks in HS Exam: 10 marks
• Admission to majors will be based on merit list + student preference.

• 2 Passport Size Photos
• HS Final Exam Marksheet & Pass Certificate
• Character Certificate
• Gap Certificate (if applicable)
• Caste / PWD Certificate

• PRC / Aadhaar Card

• Visit the Portal: Go to the official SAMARTH Portal link.
• Register: Use your basic personal and academic details (same as Class X mark sheet).
• Fill Application: Add your educational information and upload necessary documents.
• Submit Form: Generate the acknowledgment receipt and keep a print copy.
• Merit List & Admission: Once Class 12 results are out, select preferred institutions and programs. Admission is based on merit.

Students no longer need to visit multiple colleges to apply. Through the SAMARTH Admission Portal 2025, applicants can:

• Apply to up to 10 colleges of their choice
• Get admission based on merit and course preference
• Save time and money
• Track application status and receive official updates online

To provide access to the poor students of the State and to help them achieve the benefits of Higher Education, Govt. of Assam has introduced a novel scheme of getting admission through tuition fee waiver. The Scheme will be applicable to the students seeking admission into 1st Year of H.S. /B.A./B.Sc./B.Com and M.A./M.Sc/M.Com courses.

To avail the benefits of this scheme, students must apply for admission through the SAMARTH portal. Only applications submitted via SAMARTH will be eligible for the tuition fee waiver.
