• The State Bank of India (SBI) has declared the results of the Circle Based Officer (CBO) online examination conducted on 20th July 2025. Candidates who appeared in this exam can now check their results from the official website. Those who qualify in the online test will proceed to the Screening and Interview phases of the recruitment process.

SBI CBO Selection Process

The SBI Circle Based Officer Selection Process consists of three stages:

• Online Test
• Screening
• Interview
• Each stage plays a crucial role in determining the final selection of candidates.

1. Online Test

• The online test consists of two parts – an Objective Test (120 marks) and a Descriptive Test (50 marks). The Descriptive Test is conducted immediately after the Objective Test, and candidates must type their answers on the computer.

• Duration: 30 Minutes
• Total Marks: 50
• Questions: Letter Writing & Essay Writing
• No Negative Marking for Wrong Answers.

Shortlisting:

• The merit list will be prepared Circle-wise and Category-wise based on aggregate marks in the Online Test. About 3 times the number of vacancies (Circle-wise & Category-wise) will be shortlisted for the Screening phase.

2. Screening

• The Screening Committee will review candidates’ online applications and documents to verify eligibility and job experience. They will ensure that the job profile matches that of a Scale-I Generalist Officer in SBI.
• Applications not meeting the experience or profile requirements will be rejected.

3. Interview

• Total Marks: 50
• Candidates must achieve minimum qualifying marks (as decided by SBI) to be eligible for final selection.
• The final merit list will be based on performance in both the Online Test and Interview.

Final Selection Process

• Candidates must qualify separately in both the Online Test and Interview.
• The final merit list will be prepared using a 75:25 weightage ratio between Online Test and Interview marks.

Final selection will be made Circle-wise and Category-wise based on the merit list.
