Emoluments (Salary)

  • Gramin Dak Sevaks are paid Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) with an annual increment of 3%, subject to conditions. Dearness Allowance (DA) is also applicable as per Government rules.

Initial TRCA Slabs:

  • BPM: ₹12,000 – ₹29,380/-
  • ABPM / Dak Sevak: ₹10,000 – ₹24,470/-

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 40 years
  • (as on the last date of application)
  • Age Relaxation
  • SC / ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • PwBD (UR): 10 years
  • PwBD (OBC): 13 years
  • PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years

Educational Qualification

  • Must have passed Secondary School Examination (Class 10) from a recognized board.
  • Mathematics and English must be studied and passed.

Local Language Requirement

  • The candidate must have studied the local language of the concerned postal circle up to Class 10.

Other Required Criteria

  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Knowledge of cycling
  • Adequate means of livelihood

The selection process includes the following stages:

1. Shortlisting

  • Based on a system-generated merit list.

2. Merit List Preparation

  • Prepared on the basis of Class 10 marks
  • Marks/Grades converted to percentage up to 4 decimal places
  • No written exam or interview

3. Physical Verification of Documents

  • Shortlisted candidates must report to the Divisional / Unit Head
  • Verification must be completed within 15 days.

4. Final Selection & Engagement

  • After successful document verification, a system-generated provisional engagement offer will be issued.
  • Candidates must complete joining formalities within 30 days, including 3 days of basic training.
