Dr. Bani Kanta Kakati Merit Award under the Pragyan Bharati Scheme 2025 is an initiative by the Government of Assam to provide scooters to meritorious Higher Secondary (HS) students, facilitating their pursuit of higher education.

Additional Benefits: The government will cover the cost of scooter registration and insurance. Beneficiaries will also receive a helmet free of cost. However, any additional accessories will not be covered.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the award:
Academic Performance: Students must have secured 80% or more marks in the Higher Secondary Final Examination 2025 conducted by the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB).
Residency: Applicants must be permanent residents of Assam.
Further Education: Students must continue their studies beyond the 10+2 level. Those admitted to institutions outside Assam are also eligible, provided they possess a valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) of Assam.
Exclusions: Students in the betterment, reappearance category, or those who have dropped out are not eligible for this scheme.
Additional Information
Mutual Exclusivity with Nijut Moina Scheme: Beneficiaries of the Dr. Bani Kanta Kakati Merit Award under the Pragyan Bharati Scheme are not eligible for the Nijut Moina Scheme. However, if a girl student opts out of receiving the scooter, she can apply for the Nijut Moina Scheme.

Merit List for HS Student Scooty Scheme 2025
Directorate of Higher Education, Assam, released the merit lists for the Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme on May 11, 2025. This scheme awards scooters to meritorious students who have excelled in the Higher Secondary (HS) Final Examination 2025 conducted by the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB).
Beneficiary List: The Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Assam, will collect the list of students who have secured 80% and above marks from ASSEB.
Online Application: Eligible students will need to fill out an online application form. The link to this form will be published on the official DHE website:
Appreciation Certificate: After verification, eligible students will receive an appreciation certificate from designated Nodal Principals.
Scooter Collection: Students must submit the appreciation certificate to the allotted dealer to collect their scooter.
