GATE Online Form 2026 – Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati has released the official notification for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026. The examination will be conducted for 30 subjects (papers) on February 07, 08, 14 and 15, 2026 in fully Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national-level examination conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and the 23 IITs on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.
Qualifying in GATE is essential for:
Admission and/or financial assistance to Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/Technology/Architecture.
Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Arts, Science, and Humanities in institutions supported by the MoE and other Government agencies.
Recruitment in various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and certain Central Government posts.

Interested and eligible candidates may apply online for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 through the official GATE portal. Candidates may follow the steps given below:

- Click on the “Online Application Form” link.
- Register yourself with a valid email ID and mobile number.
- Login and fill in all personal, educational, and contact details carefully.
- Upload necessary documents such as photograph, signature, category certificate (if applicable), and valid photo ID proof.
- Pay the application fee as per your category through online mode (Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking/ UPI).
- Submit the application form and take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.
