Assam SC Scholarship 2025 – Apply Online for Pre-Matric & Post-Matric Scholarships

Directorate of Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes, Assam has released the official notification for the Assam SC Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2025-2026. This scheme includes centrally sponsored Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarships for students belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) category in Assam. Eligible students can apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at www.scholarships.gov.in.

Community

• Only students belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Citizenship

• The applicant must be a citizen of India.

State of Domicile

• The student must have a domicile in Assam.
• Domicile refers to the permanent residential state of the student.
• The application will be verified by the authorities of the State of Domicile, so this must be entered correctly.

Family Restriction

• All children of a parent/guardian are eligible to receive the benefits of the scheme.
• There is no limit on the number of children per family for availing the scholarship.

Income Ceiling

• A. Pre-Matric (Class IX–X) [Component-I] & Post-Matric Scholarship:
  • Annual income of parents/guardians must not exceed ₹2.5 lakh from all sources.
  • Income certificate must be issued by the Circle Officer of the respective Revenue Circle.
• B. Pre-Matric (Class I–X) [Component-II] – For Children of Parents Engaged in Unclean Occupations:
  • No income ceiling applies.
  • A valid certificate must be submitted, issued by:
    • District Social Welfare Office, or
    • Local Civic Body, or
    • Any other authority designated by the State Government.

Eligible students can apply for the Pre-Matric and Post-Matric SC Scholarships through the official National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Follow the step-by-step guide below to complete your online application:

• Visit the official website https://scholarships.gov.in
• Scroll down and go to the “Important Web Links” section.
• Click on the “One-Time Registration” link (for new users).
• A new webpage will open. Fill in all required details to complete your registration.
• Once registered, click on “Login” and then go to the “Online Application Form”.
• Fill in all your personal, academic, and bank details, and upload the necessary documents.
• After verifying all information, click on “Submit”.
• Take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.

Documents Required for OBC Scholarship Application:

Students must upload the following documents while submitting the online application:

• Bonafide Certificate (issued by the Head of Institution)
• Bank Passbook (first page showing account details)
• Income Certificate (issued by Circle Officer of the respective Revenue Circle)
• Caste Certificate (for OBC category)
• Aadhaar Card

Important Notes:

• Use an active bank account while applying, as the scholarship amount will be credited via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). The authority is not responsible for payment failure due to inactive or incorrect account details.
• Make sure your bank account is Aadhaar-seeded.
• The Bonafide Certificate must be duly signed and sealed by the Head of the Institution.
