Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has released an official employment notification for the recruitment of 35 Member posts in the State and District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions. Eligible and interested candidates may apply online through the APSC recruitment portal.

APSC Recruitment 2026 – Post Details

1. Member, Assam State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (Non‑Judicial)

  • No. of Posts: 01
  • Pay Scale: Pay Band‑4, Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/-
  • Grade Pay: Rs. 17,500/-

2. Member, District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission

  • No. of Posts: 34
  • Pay Scale: Pay Band‑4, Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/-
  • Grade Pay: Rs. 15,700/-

Age Limit (as on 01/01/2025)

  • State Commission Member (Non‑Judicial): Not less than 40 years
  • District Commission Member: Not less than 35 years
  • Age will be calculated based on Class X / Class XII Admit Card or Pass Certificate / Marksheet issued by a recognized Central or State Board/Council where Date of Birth is clearly mentioned.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have completed Graduation in regular mode from a UGC‑recognized institution.
  • Candidates who obtained their Bachelor’s degree through distance or open learning mode are not eligible.

Experience Requirement

Applicants must be persons of ability, integrity and standing with minimum 10 years of professional experience in one or more of the following fields:

  • Consumer affairs
  • Law
  • Public affairs
  • Administration
  • Economics
  • Commerce
  • Industry
  • Finance
  • Management
  • Engineering / Technology
  • Public health or Medicine

Documents Required for Experience Proof

  • Certificate reflecting minimum 10 years of experience in the relevant field.
  • Law candidates: Bar Council Registration Certificate and certificate from District Court / High Court reflecting 10 years of practice.
  • Employed candidates: Experience certificate from employer specifying relevant field.
  • Self‑employed candidates: Supporting documents issued by organizations/clients where services were rendered.

Citizenship

  • Candidates must be Indian citizens as defined under Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.
  • Small Family Norms
  • Applicants must submit a declaration regarding “Small Family Norms” in Form‑A while applying online.
