The National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2026 official notification has been released by the National Testing Agency (NTA). NCET 2026 will be conducted on 17 April 2026 (Friday) in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. NCET is a national-level entrance examination conducted by NTA on behalf of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) for admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) for the Academic Session 2026–2027. Qualifying NCET is mandatory for admission to ITEP courses offered by selected Central & State Universities / Institutions, including IITs, NITs, RIEs, and Government Colleges across India.

Age Limit

  • No age limit to appear in NCET 2026.
  • Candidates must satisfy the age criteria (if any) of the respective University / Institution at the time of admission.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates who have passed Class 12 / equivalent or
  • Candidates appearing in Class 12 examination in 2026 are eligible to apply.

  • General (UR) ₹1200/-
  • OBC (NCL) / EWS ₹1000/-
  • SC / ST / PwBD / Third Gender ₹650/-
  • Payment Mode:
  • Online only – Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card / UPI

Eligible candidates can apply online by following the steps below:

  • Click on the Online Application Form link.
  • A new registration page will open.
  • Enter personal and educational details carefully.
  • Upload scanned copies of:
    • Passport size photograph
    • Signature
    • Other required documents
  • Pay the application fee as per category.
  • Submit the form.
  • Take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.
  • Starting date of submission of online application: 12th February 2026
  • Last date of submission of online application: 10th March 2025 (Up to 11:50 P.M.)
  • Issue of admit cards online: To be announced later
  • Date for NCET 2026 examination: 17th April 2026 (Friday)
  • Declaration of Result on the NTA website: To be announced later
