Eligibility Criteria of Assam Police Recruitment 2026
1. Citizenship & Residency
Applicants must be Citizens of India and Permanent Residents of Assam.
Selected candidates have to submit Proof of Residence (PRC) after publication of the final merit list.
Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and OBC/MOBC categories are exempted from submitting PRC.
2. Employment Exchange Registration
All candidates must be registered with an Employment Exchange located in Assam.
3. Language Proficiency
Candidates must be able to speak Assamese or any other State language fluently.

Vision Standards:
Distance vision:
6/6 in one eye
Not poorer than 6/9 in the other (without correction)
Near vision should be normal.
Candidates should not be colour blind or squint-eyed.
Varicose veins will be treated as a temporary disqualification.
For Safai Karmachari posts, weight must be proportionate to height and age as per medical norms.
Selection Process of Assam Police Constable
The selection process for Assam Police Constable recruitment is conducted in multiple stages to assess the physical fitness, knowledge, and overall suitability of candidates.
1. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
PET is a scored test and plays a major role in merit preparation.
