JEE Main 2026 – Apply Online for Joint Entrance Examination (Main)

National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official notification for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main 2026). Interested and eligible candidates may apply online for the JEE Main examination through the official portal. The Joint Entrance Examination – Main (JEE-Main) is conducted for admission to B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Plan courses in NITs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), as well as participating universities and state-funded institutes.
It also serves as the eligibility test for JEE Advanced, which is conducted for admission to IITs.

JEE Main 2026 Details

  • Name of Exam : Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Main 2026)
  • Conducting Body : National Testing Agency (NTA)
  • Level of Exam : Undergraduate
  • Frequency : Twice a year – January & April
  • Mode of Exam : Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Courses Offered : B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Plan
  • Duration : 3 hours (4 hours for PwD candidates)
  • Total Marks : 300 (Paper-1), 400 (Paper-2A & 2B)

Age Limit

  • There is no age limit to appear in JEE Main 2026.
  • Candidates who have passed Class 12/equivalent in 2024, 2025, or are appearing in 2026 can apply.
  • However, candidates must meet the age criteria of the respective institutes they wish to join.

Educational Qualification:

  • Only candidates who:
  • Passed Class 12/equivalent in 2024 or 2025, or
  • Are appearing in Class 12/equivalent in 2026, are eligible to appear for JEE Main 2026.
  • Candidates who passed Class 12/equivalent before 2023 are not eligible.

State of Eligibility:

  • The state code of eligibility refers to the state from where the candidate passed Class 12, not the native state or place of residence.
  • For example, if a candidate studied in New Delhi but resides in Noida (U.P.), their state code of eligibility will be Delhi.

Application Fee of JEE Main 2026

Interested and eligible candidates may apply online by following the steps below:

  • Scroll down to the Important Web-Links section.
  • Click on the “Online Application Form” link.
  • Register yourself by providing basic details.
  • Login and fill out your personal and academic details.
  • Upload scanned copies of required documents.
  • Pay the application fee as per your category.
  • Submit the online form.
  • Take a printout of the application form for future reference.

Session 1: JEE (Main) – January 2026

  • Starting Date for Online Registration & Payment of Fee: 31st October 2025
  • Last Date for Online Registration & Payment of Fee: 27th November 2025
  • Date of JEE (Main) 2026 Exam: Between 21st – 30th January 2026
  • Declaration of Result: By 12th February, 2026

Session 2: JEE (Main) – April 2026

  • Starting Date for Online Registration & Payment of Fee: Last week of January 2026 onwards
  • Last Date for Online Registration & Payment of Fee: To be updated
  • Date of JEE (Main) 2024 Exam: Between 02nd – 09th April 2026
  • Declaration of Result: By 20th April, 2026
