Indian Coast Guard has released the official notification for the recruitment of Assistant Commandant (Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officer) posts for the 2025 batch. Interested and eligible male candidates can apply online for the following branches: General Duty (GD) and Technical (Engineering/Electrical/Electronics).

1. Assistant Commandant (General Duty – GD)

  • Gender: Male
  • No of Posts: 140

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age Limit: 21 to 25 years as on 01 July 2026
  • Candidates must be born between 01 July 2001 to 30 June 2005 (both dates inclusive).
  • Relaxation: 5 years for personnel serving in Coast Guard or equivalent personnel in Army/Navy/Air Force.

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
  • Must have studied Mathematics and Physics up to Class 12 (10+2 level).
  • Candidates with graduation after diploma are also eligible, provided diploma included Physics and Mathematics.

2. Assistant Commandant (Technical – Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics)

  • Gender: Male
  • No of Posts: 30
  • SC: 3
  • ST: 4
  • OBC: 8
  • EWS: 2
  • UR: 13

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age Limit: 21 to 25 years as on 01 July 2026
  • Candidates must be born between 01 July 2001 to 30 June 2005 (both dates inclusive).
  • Relaxation: 5 years for serving personnel in Coast Guard or equivalent in Army/Navy/Air Force.

Educational Qualification:

  • (a) Mechanical Branch:
  • Engineering degree in any of the following disciplines:
  • Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Marine, Automotive, Mechatronics, Industrial and Production, Metallurgy, Design, Aeronautical, Aerospace
  • OR an equivalent qualification recognized by Institutes of Engineers (India) as exempted from Section “A” and “B” and their AMIE.
  • (b) Electrical/Electronics Branch:
  • Engineering degree in any of the following disciplines:
  • Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Instrumentation, Instrumentation and Control, Electronics & Communication, Power Engineering, Power Electronics
  • OR equivalent qualification recognized by Institutes of Engineers (India) as exempted from Section “A” and “B” and their AMIE.
  • (c) Mandatory Subjects:
  • Mathematics and Physics at 10+2 level (Class XII).
  • Candidates who completed graduation after diploma are eligible if their diploma included Physics and Mathematics.

  • Fee Amount: ₹300/- (Rupees Three Hundred Only)
  • Mode of Payment: Online through Net Banking/ Credit/ Debit Card/ UPI.
  • Exemption: SC/ST candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.

  • Complete the registration process by clicking on “New Registration”.
  • After registration, click on the “Online Application Form” link and log in using your credentials.
  • Fill in all your personal and educational details carefully and upload the required documents.
  • Pay the examination fee through the available online payment options.
  • Submit the application form after verifying all the details.
  • Take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.
