Candidates aspiring to pursue a teaching career at the elementary level must appear in the Pre-Entry Test (PET) 2025 for admission into the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) course offered by SCERT Assam. Below are the complete details regarding the question pattern, syllabus, and exam scheme.
Exam Pattern Overview
- Total Marks: 100
- Total Questions: 100
- Duration: 2 Hours
- Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Mark per Question: 1 mark
- Negative Marking: 0.25 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer
Structure of the PET Exam
The Pre-Entry Test (PET) 2025 will consist of two sections as detailed below:
Section I – General Knowledge and Current Affairs (40 Marks)
- General Awareness
- Social Science
- Indian History & Polity
- Current Affairs (National & International)
- Reasoning and Logical Thinking
Section II – General Aptitude (60 Marks)
- Numerical Ability: Number system, LCM, HCF, Simplification, Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Average, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Simple Interest, etc.
- Mental Ability: Series, Analogy, Classification, Coding-Decoding, Blood Relation, Direction Sense, Non-verbal reasoning, etc.
- Language (Assamese/ Bengali/ Bodo/ Manipuri/ Garo/ Hindi/ Nepali): Comprehension, Vocabulary, Grammar
- English Language: Comprehension, Vocabulary, Grammar and Usage
- Teaching Aptitude: Child psychology, Inclusive education, Teaching-learning process, etc.
