Eligibility Criteria of UPSC CDS II Examination 2025
Nationality
A candidate must be unmarried and must either be:
A Citizen of India, or
A subject of Nepal, or
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from:
Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka
East African countries: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Candidates from category (2) and (3) must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
Gorkha subjects of Nepal are exempt from the certificate requirement.
Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status
Indian Military Academy (IMA)
Eligibility: Unmarried male candidates
Date of Birth Range: Born not earlier than 2nd July 2002 and not later than 1st July 2007
Indian Naval Academy (INA)
Eligibility: Unmarried male candidates
Date of Birth Range: Born not earlier than 2nd July 2002 and not later than 1st July 2007
Air Force Academy (AFA)
Age between 20 to 24 years as on 1st July 2026
Born not earlier than 2nd July 2002 and not later than 1st July 2006
Upper age limit is 26 years (i.e. born not earlier than 2nd July 2000) for candidates holding a valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India)
Officers’ Training Academy (OTA) – SSC Course for Men
Eligibility: Unmarried male candidates
Date of Birth Range: Born not earlier than 2nd July 2001 and not later than 1st July 2007
Officers’ Training Academy (OTA) – SSC Women (Non-Technical) Course
Eligibility: Unmarried women
Issueless widows who have not remarried
Issueless divorcees (with divorce documents) who have not remarried
Date of Birth Range: Born not earlier than 2nd July 2001 and not later than 1st July 2007
Educational Qualification
IMA and OTA (Men & Women): Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
Indian Naval Academy: Degree in Engineering from a recognized university/institution.
Air Force Academy: Degree from a recognized university with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level, or Bachelor of Engineering.
Candidates in the final year/semester of their degree course can also apply, provided they submit proof of passing by a date to be specified in the official notification.
